Message of the Dean, Basic Medical SciencesDear Students! It is indeed a matter of great pleasure for me to communicate with you at the outset through this print message. Firstly I would like to pray that you succeed in getting admission to Peshawar Medical College. As a medical student you will have to work hard and even harder when you are a doctor. It does not mean that studying medicine is something very cumbersome, but no doubt it is very loaded and time intensive. The first thing you need to do is managing your time and never letting your today’s work pass on to tomorrow, because, tomorrow never comes. Basic Sciences as the name indicates are really basic and lay foundation for making a good doctor. The work habits you acquire and the knowledge base you build during these formative years heavily contribute to your good studentship and later to your successful career in life. Last but not the least mere professionalism without excellence in ethical values has always been a source of bad image for doctors at individual as well as collective level. As a Muslim Doctor we should have firm faith in that medical profession is at the same time easy passage to heaven or hell. The choice is ours. At PMC, I assure you that professionalism and ethical values go hand in hand. Be wise enough to seize the opportunity for success in this world and the hereafter.
