Dr Saffiullah did his graduation from Khyber medical college in December 1999.After completing his house job in Khyber teaching hospital he went to United Kingdom for his postgraduate training in paediatrics.His first placement was in Alder Hey Children’s hospital, Liverpool which is a tertiary paediatrics centre catering all major paediatrics subspecialities.Subsequently he was selected for the East Kent hospital paediatrics rotational training program based at Ashford, Canterbury and Margate in Kent area. During this training he also had the opportunity to work in the neonatal intensive care unit, Canterbury, gaining valuable experience in neonatology. After completing his training he worked as specialty doctor in paediatrics based at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother hospital, Margate, Kent.Dr Saffiullah did his MRCPCH (London) in 2006 and was also awarded MRCPS (Glasgow) in 2009.Dr Saffiullah has successfully completed various training courses in paediatrics and neonatal resuscitation including the UK resuscitation council , Newborn life support course(NLS- Oxford and King’s college London)and Advanced paediatrics life support course(APLS-Manchester and University college, London).He has been trained in the neonatal stabilization and advanced skills course(STABLE program).Dr Saffiullah also did his Griffith mental development scale training from Cambridge.Dr Saffiullah has special interest in paediatrics gastroenterology, nutrition and endoscopy and has attended various training including Intercollegiate course in human nutrition(Durham),Royal college of paedaitrics Diploma in paediatrics nutrition(Southampton) and the joint advisory group on gastrointestinal endoscopy( JAG) approved course in upper GI endoscopy(Liverpool).Dr Saffiullah was involved in various clinical audit and projects during his training in the UK.He presented one of his project “Use of cow’s milk protein antibody measurement in children with chronic constipation” in the Royal college of paediatrics and child health’s annual Spring meeting. This was subsequently published in the special edition of the Archives of disease in childhood.Dr Saffiullah currently works as assistant professor in paediatrics based in Kuwait teaching hospital(morning) and Prime medical complex, warsak road(evening ). |
