Research and Development Unit

PMC is perhaps among the first few medical colleges in the country that has established a Research & Development Unit. Besides a range of futuristic roles and responsibilities, core functions of the unit are:

  1. Inculcate research culture at undergraduate level
  2. Coordinate research endeavors of the faculty members and students
  3. Act as extended faculty to dept. of community medicine for relating theory of community medicine with actual practice by enabling and encouraging students to plan, manage & report their research projects as well as ‘learn by doing’ in field demonstration sites
  4. Set out monitoring indicators for quality medical education within the framework of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council

Core R&D faculty comprises on multidisciplinary team having public health consultants and environmentalist as its members at the outset. The constitution of an honorary consultative group comprising on experts of various fields is in the shaping.

A high level R&D Board that includes famous national & international technocrats, shall act as an oversight body for maximizing performance of the unit.
